5 Ways to Improve the Readers Engagement of your Blog

Okay, so we agree that you’re a good writer; you’ve the potential to make your post interesting by gathering all the relevant information related to the given topic. But even after doing a lot of hard work, is the blog written by you helping readers to get the same message you want to convey through your content? No? It’s okay! Here we have mentioned few tips to improve the user experience of your blog and get maximum likes. Use Short and Crisp Paragraphs Past studies have shown that people don’t like to read long paragraphs even if they contain valuable information. It takes a lot of time and effort, and gives a never-ending feeling to all the readers. Therefore, it may possible that they might lost interest in the middle of the paragraph and might choose not to read the complete blog.   Ideally, a paragraph shouldn’t be written in more than 5 lines. Anything longer than this would definitely break the reader’s attention and it might force them to take a decision of not visiting your blog again. So, it is always advisable to keep the paragraphs short and simple. Short paragraphs allow readers to understand its meaning and connect themselves with the content in a better way.

Keep the Reader’s Interest High If you want your readers to read the complete blog with same interest, you should think of portraying it in a better way. Try maintaining some distance between the text and visual content. Let’s say if you’re trying to explain something, make sure to use bullets in the blog content. Or if there is something that can’t be portrayed using bullets, try using attractive images or infographics. However, if you’ve written blog of 1000 – 1500 words and are worried if readers will read it, try including the following things:

  • Tweets
  • Gifs
  • Screenshots
  • Stats
  • Videos
  • Infographics
  • Quotes
  • Memes
  • Vines

Don’t try to use all the above mentioned things in one blog post, as it adversely affect the overall visualization of your blog.

Use Black and White Theme Are you trying different background themes to make your post look beautiful? If yes, then please STOP right now! The background theme should be always white and it shouldn’t be changed anyhow. And the font color of your blog post should be always black; black looks great on white and it’s an evergreen color combination. It makes the content easy to read, therefore, improves the user engagement. Also, make sure not to use fancy fonts, as it can force your audience to go away of your blog content.

Use Social Media Icons You’ve written a good post? It deserves to be shared across different social media websites. And to make it happen, make sure to put social media icons along with your blog content. Place only those icons where you want your content to be shared by your audience. These icons should be easily accessible by your readers, so that they can share your content whenever they feel like. Tell your programmer to place social media icons in such a way that it is always visible to readers even when they’re scrolling down to read the complete blog.

Always End the Blog with a Conclusion You spent a lot of time to gather relevant information and came up with an effective blog, but didn’t end it with a conclusion. Have you ever thought how badly it will affect your brand’s credibility?
Yes, all your efforts will go in garbage if you don’t end the blog smartly. You would obviously want your readers to reach a definitive conclusion after reading the complete blog and to make it happen, you need to end a conclusion in the end.

A great article always starts with an interactive title, so it should be end with a great conclusion as well. No matter how much efforts you’ve made to write the content, if you don’t end it with a conclusion, it would a meaningless content; and your readers will simply go away without taking any call to action.
The conclusion should consist of 2-3 lines, containing the summery of the posts. Not only it will help readers to frequently visit your blog, but will also encourage them to do some activity.
